Hanson's:
A. writing to describe:
key word: desire
children's own desire to learn is the center of younger writers.
B. writing to interpret:
This chapter basically mentions that how we teachers can help younger students to write and what is the process of children's learning on writing especially on first and second grade students. The author hold the opinion in the first paragraph that at the center of children's forward movement is their own desire to learn.Younger writers are different from each other as are adult writers. The central factor in evaluation of a piece of writing is whether other persons understand it-- not only teachers evaluated the children but also children's own evaluations of their efforts. Variation for individual children is the hallmark of writing development. The environment in which children learn to talk, write and read is key to their development. When children write with the words they speak, they use complicated words. It also introduces how children improve their writing by the correct guidance of teachers and some explanations for child development.
C. writing to interrogate:
1. What can we teachers do if the children are not supported by their families?
2. How can we deal with children under different grow-up environment ( individual teaching plan) ?
3. How can we guide the children but not lose their own imagination or their own thinking?
D. writing to evaluate:
1. supply materials
2. evaluations
3. teach children to read to the class each day from children's literature.
